UPDATE 3/2/16: Today we screened the video to our class and had them give back the feedback from our printed survey. Later today we will have our focus group to answer our other open ended questions.
These were the questions given to the class for feedback.
What improvements would you make about the music video? Why?
How would you compare the videos to other hip hop videos in terms of acting, effects, camera shots etc?
Did you feel the representations of the hip hop artists were accurate and what was it about them?
Was the font in the music video appropriately used and how did you feel it fitted in the video? What else could've been used if you didn't like it?
These were the questions given to the class for feedback.
1. Do you recognize the genre of the video? If so, what was it?
2. Did you recognize the symbol of wealth? If so, what symbols of wealth specifically?
3. Does this meet your expectation of what the genre should look like?
4. Does this look similar to any other hip-hop video you see in real life? If so, which videos?
5. Who do you think the video is targeted at (in terms of genre, age etc)?
6. Does the camera angles used complement the song's genre? If so, which angles specifically?
7. Are the effects appropriate for the music video?
8. Does the artist have typical representations of hip-hop? If so, what representations did you notice?
UPDATE: We gathered a small focus group to watch the video and answer some open ended questions that we can further analyse with the quantitative data we gathered.
